1st Round win for Blues

This Saturday saw two big games being played in the quest for Silverware. Not only did Wales take on the World Cup home Nation England in a very important Pool match but Haverordwest 1st XV took on Pembroke in the 1st round of the Swalec competition.

For those who may not know ( cant think of any ) WALES beat ENGLAND 28 -25 in a game that will go down in Rugby History.

On a local level Haverfordwest 36 - Pembroke 17

Haverfordwest progressed to round two of the competition with a win over old rivals Pembroke in an close fought match at Haverfordwest RFC. The first half was a closely conested affair with tries from Scott Candler and Mikey Jones, who converted his own try and added a penalty. Followed by a try from Liam Brown.  Pembroke fought back bringing the half time score to 22-17.

The second half was a better half for Haverfordwest who scored 14 unanswered points with tries from Mike Griffiths and Danny Morgan both converted by Mikey Jones, giving a full time score of 36 - 17.
