Congratulations and good luck must go to Rob Evans on his selection to the Welsh squad and becoming first choice prop for the opening international away to Ireland this weekend. Rob started his rugby career coming through Haverfordwest Mini, junior and youth teams before escalating to the scarlets regional sides. This then led to being chosen for Wales representative age grade rugby. As a Welsh under 20 he took part in the Welsh win over the All Blacks in the 2012 world cup, the first time they had been beaten. Following this he was signed up for Scarlets Ist team rugby where he is now a regular first team player. He was now on the radar for International honourswhich led to him being chosen to train with the Lions squad. This led to his choice for senior Welsh squad training.
Rob was unfortunately injured but following a successful recovery he was named on the bench for Wales last year, gaining his first cap in the outstanding win against Ireland when he came on to replace Gethin Jenkins. This was followed by a first team start against Italy.
Well done Rob you have done Haverfordwest, Scarlets and Wales proud.
Good luck for tomorrow and the rest of the six nations.
